FS2000 Scenery - Brethren, British Columbia
by Jim Faircloth (jrfdjf@earthlink.net)

Description: This scenery places a new fictious location in the southwestern coastal
regions of the British Columbia Rockies. It is within easy flying distance of several
previous projects for Bush Pilots set in this area. The focus of this series of scenery
projects is to give the pilots, as well as their non flying family members a unique
place to stop and explore rather than a quick touch and go. My hope is that your wife
constantly keeps being called to your computer to "Honey, look at this!" so many times
that eventually she too takes to the air to learn more about this beautiful section of
Canada. You will find a 4000' gravel runway to facilitate those folks who love the big
birds and hopefully they will deviate off the major air corridors long enough to stop in
and meet the friendly inhabitants of Brethren. A float hanger is available for the usual
bush fellas to park. You will find a lot of children in this project and fishing seems to be the favorite pastime. Please don't write me about how bad
you feel about the little guy freezing his diaper off in the dead of winter! I hope you
are proficient with the Slew mode to better move around the neighborhood to see all of the
items depicted. The runway and most of the structures are nightlit. This is the 10th project in this series for British Columbia.

Navigation: To reach this location you will need to fly to N51* 09' 42.27 W126*10'30.21
You may dial in 329mHz on your ADF within 25nm.

Installation: For those who have any of my previous sceneries in this series just unzip to
a temp directory and then copy the bgl files from the Brethren Scenery folder into whichever
scenery folder you have the previous project's bgls. Do the same with the textures from the Brethren texture folder into your other project's texture folder. You then start FS2000 and
and from the FS95 and Before menu you will find a float and runway start location.
First time installers may also add this project as a new entry in the same fashion as most other scenery addons utilizing FS2000's scenery library function. There are no flatten or exclude switches to mess with. That entails copying the entire Brethren folder
and pasting it to wherever you keep your scenery addons and then opening the scenery library, Add new files, browse to the location of the Brethren folder and then double click
on it to place it in the location window then type Brethren in the file description window,
click on the check mark and then OK and wait for FS2000 to do it's thing. You access the two
start locations from the FS95 and Before menu selection.

Requirements: This project is graphic intensive and requires at least a beefy Pentium 2 processor and minimum of 128megs of RAM. I always test my projects on a slower computer which is a Dell 400 with an nVidia 8meg card with scenery density set to at least Dense or higher.
No local inhabitants are visible at Normal density. You will find this project similar in
frame rates to most of my other sceneries in this series.
You will need ASD2.1 textures as well as Airport 2.X and Vod textures installed in your main FS2000 texture folder.

Credits/Disclaimers: These files are freeware and should not be used for any commercial purposes. I cannot be held responsible for any problems or damage you may incur for using these files. I wish to thank the many developers and contributors to the programs used in the development of this project which includes Abacus for FSDS, ASD 2.1, Rafael Sanchez for BMP2000 and BMP2000EXT and Jasc Software for Paintshop Pro 7. I would also like to thank the many people who's likenesses were utilized in the making of the textures you will find in this project and were obtained from multiple sources but who's identities were not listed. Hopefully, nobody will be offended for their contribution to this freeware non-commercial project.
